We do things a little different here in our puppy pick process.  I always reserve the first pick male and female for use in my program.  I select my breedings with this purpose in mind.  I am trying to better my program and the breed as whole. I generally do all hybrid breedings as I feel this produces the best of both worlds.  With this in mind, I do my pick process as follows.

When the pups reach 1 week of age, I start to take non-refundable deposits for "Pick Order".  Pick Order is determined on a "first come, first pick" process. ( ie. If your deposit comes in first, you are first pick after mine, and so on, till all pups are spoken for.)  I also do pick order by gender of pups.  As I feel it is crucial to evaluate the pups, my picks are not done till they reach 7 weeks of age.  The remaining picks are done in order after that.
